GERMAN TRADITION MYTHS
We have always known the Germans to do this a little differently than the rest of the world. And the same goes for their Christmas traditions. While the rest of the world excitedly tears open their gifts come 25th morning (or after mass, for the conservatives!), the Germans have a different way to get things done. Due to the original St. Nicholas’ feast day being on the 5th, they usually exchange presents then or on Christmas eve. Sounds like a better plan, don’t you think?!
